Almost 13 months... already?

So this past month has been kind of different dynamic with Josh... although he has been a complete and total JOY, he has started his tantrum phase, which means Tommy and I have had to start discipling... and I hate it!! We are bouncing between different things (trying to see what works), which is probably a bad thing, because it's confusing for him... I'm thinking that Tommy and I need to sit down and discuss this issue, pick a form of discipline and STICK with it! Anyone else going through this I HIGHLY recommend "The 10 Best Decisions Every Parent Can Make" it's by Bill and Pam Farrel... great authors and great book!!
Well, thats all for now!!

Josh's 1st Birthday

On Friday, May 13th, 2011 MY mom (AKA Nana to Josh), Sara (Aunt Sara), and Adam (Uncle Adam) came down to visit. They didn't get down till late, so we waited till Saturday the 14th to celebrate with the birthday boy. So when he woke up we did presents:
New race car from Nana

Singing Birthday Cake from Uncle Adam and Aunt Sara:

Josh's 1st Birthday

Well, I know it's been a while since I have blogged, but between family visiting, work, and Josh's 1st birthday I have not had the time or the energy (fall into bed).
Well, on the 12th; Tommy's parents, his brother and his brother's wife, and their kids (4 girls), Tommy, Josh and I had pancakes for breakfast (that I happily made). Then we went to Disneyland. We went to California Adventure 1st and had lunch (since we got there a little late). We rode Toy Story... Josh seemed to like that. The family did a few things while Josh was napping, then we all headed to Disneyland. At Disneyland, we rode Pirates of the Caribbean; which he was scared of... he was very brave and didn't cry, but he buried his face into my chest for most of the ride. Peter Pan, he loved that! Buzz Lightyear... Loved that as well. And Dumbo the flying elephant... he rode that with Daddy and he loved that one as well. Sadly those were the only rides Josh went on due to how long the lines were that day. Even though it was crowded for a Thursday it was a FUN filled day! Here are some pictures of Josh's First Birthday:

Family Pictures were a MUST for mommy :)

Happy Birthday Little Man I hope you had a fabulous day!!

What a Joy

My nightly routine consists of going into my son's room after I've put him to bed and watch him sleep for a few min, feel his chest... feeling him breathe. I swear I can stare at that boy sleeping every min of my life... he is the sweetest thing. I've started adding a little something to this ritual I do... I put some soft toys in his crib, so when he wakes up in the morning he will play and enjoy himself, before calling to me and get me up. OKAY so I confess... I use these toys as a distraction in hopes it'll give me a few more minutes of sleep... maybe a half an hour.
It's amazing to me that even when Josh drives me crazy... acting his age, by getting into things that are breakable or dangerous to him, screaming to get his way, clinging to my leg and crying (I just don't understand what he wants at times), every night I take and hour after he has gone to bed and then I go upstairs and check on him like usual and my stress, frustrations, etc seem to disappear. I recommend to every parent out there struggling to keep their cool is to do this every evening. It makes everything better.
Well, I'm off for now. Good night to all!

Josh

So life is so crazy... I just can't believe how life changes when you have a baby/child. Josh is growing so fast I'm in awe at how much he's learned and accomplished in the past year. He's going to be one in 15 days... it's amazing and sad. I wish he could stay under 1 for like another year. Let's see... when I first brought him home he only cried, slept, pooed, and ate (and not very well in the beginning... we had a lot of issues, but fought to make it work and it did). He slept all day and was up to play at night (that was rough). Then he finally started sleeping through the night at 2 months and then taking naps every 2 hours. That was when he started developing his personality. He was always smiling. Then he started raising his head which in turn got him to rolling over, then getting on all fours, to crawling. At 9 months he started walking!! With food... he went from strictly BM (breast milk) then at 5 months rice cereal at night and BM the rest of the time... all the way to now... BM is hardly ever (it feels like) and solid food all the time.
He is entering into the Toddler stage and so I'm ready for another baby... even though at times I feel like I'm crazy cause I have no idea how I'll handle have a toddler and being pregnant then a new born. Since I know what a new born is like and I know what Josh is like I'm afraid I'll get no sleep. But on the other side of things... I crave to cuddle and hold a baby who will let me... Josh is so independent that he wants to be moving, so cuddling with mom is out of the question.

April 25, 2011

I'm so sorry I haven't kept this up to date. Becoming a mom is very tiring and exhausting. I can't believe how much time fly's just by having a kid. I just haven't had the time to keep this up to date since Josh has been born... so sorry.
Josh is almost 1 and I can't believe it. He's walking now and babbling. He like to act like he can do the Isty Bitsy Spider. It's so adorable. He loves Pat-A-Cake and "Jesus Loves You".
He likes to be busy... walking and getting into mischief, but he is still the most amazing child I have ever known. We like playing chase together... he runs around the couch and I chase him or I squeal and crawl away from him, while he chases me. He is so much fun.
I started a Nanny job a few weeks ago. It is such a blessing to have a job that I can bring Josh with me and get paid. Josh loves watching and playing with the kids that I watch. (Abby whose 10 and Jimmy whose 7).
Josh LOVES his Daddy... whenever he has had enough of mom, he'll pick Daddy... which kinda makes me sad, but also happy to know Josh will grow up knowing his Dad loves him and that his Dad is an amazing Christ focused man.
Well, That is all for now.
Love,
Me

It's A BOY!!!

Hello All,
Today Tommy and I had another Doctor's appt. PLUS a ultrasound. At the Doctor's we found out everything is looking good "You have a healthy baby boy in there" Doctor Raffo said:) (My doctor is Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, but she has had a family loss so has taken time off to recover, so I saw Raffo today instead...please pray for Dr. Johnson). Anywho, everything looks good... the ultra sound lady said everything looks normal from head to toe (and they really do go from head to toe...it's really cool to see it). And of course you know from the title that we found out it's a boy... it took her 2 times to get in between his legs, but as you can see in the picture... it is VERY MUCH a BOY! So in case your wondering...his name is Joshua Andrew Ohmit. Tommy and I had picked out one girl name we liked and one boy name we like and Josh was always there:) lol.

Symptoms: Still hungry, I dont remember if I had this down or not on my previous posts, but I have to pee like ALL the time now... it's freakin crazy! I have a belly... it's really cute if I do say so myself...lol. I look pregnant now...not like Im gaining weight (code for getting fat), which is nice. So I've felt Josh kicking or punching me already (it's still inconsistent, but I know it was him). Last night he was really hitting or kicking cause I had my laptop resting on my belly and he didnt like that too much...lol. It was awesome! Im going to try and get him to kick again tonight. He likes to be up late. lol. Well, I think that is all for now. Thanks for checking in!
